William did a PowerPoint on his iPad about whangamata beach. Annabelle did a study about Pavalova. She also made this delicious Pavlova for us to eat. It was yum!

Calendars in Progress
We are in the process of asking our 2014 calendars - we are making collages of our favourite animal
Here are some photos and a sneak peak of what we have done.
A Time When I Was Successful by Nikki
The Proud Moment
Huff, puff! Will I make it to the finish line? I hear, "Go Nikki, go!" A cold shiver runs down my spine as I see the finish line. All I can see are friends and family running to the finish with their child. Eagerly I start sprinting to the finish line as I catch a glimpse of mum. She's yelling at me saying "You're nearly there, keep going!"
Clonk! "Yes, I'm over the finish line!" Miss Phillips hands me a square white card saying that I'm 4th place out of the 11 year olds to the 13 year olds. My friends all run over to congratulate me. My frown was turned upside down after all. "Have I just come 4th? OMG!" I can't believe it. I was as small as an ant, well, compared to some of the others I was against.
As I walk up to the control room mum keeps telling me how proud she is. Proudly I hand my card to the lady and tell her my name. Excitedly she tells me that I have finished 1st in my age group. I was honoured to get first place at the Interschool Cross Country.
A Time When I Was Successful by Ana
Hallelujah!
I can feel my heart pounding through my chest. Why me? Why does she want to see me? The question thrashes around in my head sending streaks of pain to my temple.
The clicking of heels echo around me as Miss Phillips and I exit the classroom and make our way to the office. Usually you go to the Principal for bad reasons, or so everyone says. But I don't recall doing anything bad lately. As I let my mind wander off into this situation my body calms. I start to relax even. But as I pass Room 7's door, anxiousness fills my body, right to the top of my head. I hardly have time to react...
Now I'm waiting. Just outside the door, ready to be welcomed in. Then I hear it, her voice, just behind the door saying, "Come in!"
I cautiously make my way in and Miss Phillips closes the door behind me. Mrs McNeil then instructs me to stand where I can see the screen of her computer. I choose to stand right behind her. She begins to speak. She talks about all this stuff about ICAS and other things academic and then just as my mind starts to wander off, the words come and they say "You got a High Distinction for English."
All I can say is "Wow!" Instantly I feel like I have been frozen for a million years.
