For part of our homework last week we had to make a facts page about some athlete in the commonwealth games. I choose Leana de Bruin. Did you know she played for South Africa for 34 years and came to New Zealand in 2000 and started playing for the silver ferns in 2003. She pulled out of the team in 2009 to have a baby, but came back the following year. She also played for the Southern Stings, Capital Shakers, Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, Northen Force and the Northen Mystics in the anz bank cup.Sunday 3 August 2014

Well done Ava. She is one of my favourite netball players. I love her positive and can do attitude no matter what she is faced with. Keep up the great work, Mrs McNeil
