Commonwealth games
As most of you know today is the kick off of the 2014 commonwealth games in Glasgow Scotland. The first commonwealth games were held in Hamilton Canada in 1986. As you may already know they have a queen's baton relay which is similar to the Olympic torch relay. Every living soul in New Zealand will hopefully be backing the New Zealand team all throughout the games and we will bring home a couple of golds. By David.

Leadership week
As you all should know it is leader ship week.On Wednesday Liana and I were chosen as the leaders of room 6. We had a delicious morning tea with Tawera Nikau. The teacher explained why they chose the people they did. Liana is room 6s quiet leader as she does what ever when ever and I (Blake) is the not so quiet leader but I'm pretty good on the sports field. After the morning tea we all went into the multi purpose room and Tawera Nikau told his inspiring story about his motorcycle crash and there were very good questions that made him think abit actually. These are our red socks that we got on Wednesday

Leadership week
Tawera Nikau was teaching us about leadership, how to dream big.
Today I learnt to never give up on your dream and I also learnt you can't always have it your way.
We had an inspiring time.

Tawera Nikau Visiting Korakonui School By Ava Trusler
Today Tawera Nikau visited Korakonui school. He got together with two kids from each class at morning tea and got to have a nice morning tea with those students who got chose. Then after his nice morning tea he talked to us students of korakonui school and many parents around the community. He was a very inspiring speaker. We learnt a lot about leader ship and Tawera Nikau's life. He showed us a video of himself playing rugby. Rachel Archer got the young leaders award for 2014 Korakonui School.
