Day Three at Camp Tapu

Day three of camp
HEY GUYS!
TODAY WE DID WATER ACTIVITIES.  IT WAS VERY JAM PACKED. WE DIVIDED INTO two different GROUPS.
THE FIRST GROUP  WANDEReD DOWN THE BEACH  READY TO LEARN HOW TO SAIL ,KAYAK AND PADDLEBOARD .

THE KAYAKING WAS VERY CHALLENGING!  we had TO RAFT UP AND WE HAD TO GET INTO EACH other's KAYAKs- THAT  DID NOT GO SO WELL.

ANY WAY  THEY SAY ONE OF THE ADULTS [CRAIG  Mc CULLOUGH ] COULD NOT GET THE HANG OF SAILING AND TIPPED THE YELLOW  SAIL BOAT , AND SPENT MOST OF THE TIME SCOOPING OUT WATER OF THE SAIL BOAT  WHILE THE OTHER PARENTS GOT THE HANG OF IT, UNTIL THE END WERE THE PARENTS HAD TO BE TOWED IN.

WHILE this was happening down at the beach, THE OTHER  HALF ENJOYED A WALK UP A STREAM TO A BEAUTIFUL WATER HOLE. MOST OF THEM SAY THEY JUMPED OFF A ROCK INTO A DEEP  WATER HOLE BUT THE  RULES WERE TO JUMP AS FAR AS YOU CAN OTHER WISE YOU Would HAVE BIG SWoLLEN PURPLE BRUISE.

THEN  WE HAD A BBQ LUNCH AND THEY SWAPED OVER.
that’s  IT FOR NOW THIS WAS RILEY WYBER AND PAIGE GIBBERD REPORTING  TO YOU LIVE ON  THE INTERNET.

Day Two at Camp Tapu

Today we ventured into the Kauranga Valley. A very dusty, gravel road lead us to the start of the walk to Cookson's Kauri. We headed off, full of energy. Before too long we came across our first flight of stairs, followed by another, and another, and another. There were 705 stairs altogether!! (Yes we counted). The energy we started with began to fade. Luckily we had some strong Dads who acted as pack horses for some of us-carrying up to 3 extra backpacks!! We were relieved to see the sign which said there was only 15 minutes to go until we got to Cookson's Kauri and the lunch stop.

After our walk we were feeling rather hot and bothered. A swim was in order!! We arrived at a magical spot-Hoffman's Pool. It was pretty chilly though. A rock at least 5 metres high was a great launching spot to jump into the pool. Most of us had a go-including the parents and Miss Phillips!!!

We enjoyed finishing off our day watching a movie under the stars with children from Tapu School.

Day One of Camp

Day 1 for Camp Tapu

When we arrived at camp we had to set up the
tents. That was kind of tricky.

Today we challenged ourselves with all of the
outdoor activites.

Some of the activities were beach volleyball,
snorkelling, Rock Run, orienteering and

fishing on the boat.

Each group had a go on the boat to try catch
some fish. The only fish we knew we could
catch were, Snapper, and BIG Kahawai.

The first group on the boat was group 1 and
they came back with 1 Snapper and 1 Kahawai.
They also saw a baby Hammer Head shark
swimming in search of a meal.

Group 5 caught 1 Snapper by Blake.  Riley and
Jeremy both caught 3 fish that had to be let go.

Each time we figure these puzzles out
Miss Phillips puts up a new puzzle what will the next one be?

This is a brownie point

Each time we get a brownie point we put it on a tray the points are for good behaviour and teamwork.

When we fill up the tray we get to make a chocolate brownie.

School value awards are used in every classroom. We have them for respect next week we might have these awards for integrity or excellence.
